Been thinking about drawing up a checklist to show my prospective customers to highlight the difference between an okay....and a great installation...

Something I could leave with them to use when they are being pitched to by the soft shoe shuffle guys....

And not just the big items like type of panel and inverter.......but covering everything involved from first visit right through to post commissioning....

From the type of screw used in the mounting system....to how tidy the cabling is.....Sometimes its the small stuff that makes the difference...

So......what would your TOP 12 Installation Items be.....

don,t bother, most customers just see sockets and switches as long as they work
they have no concept of anything else

tried this made guides for customers etc but still buy a load of **** then call you 2 mths later saying I wish I bought off you I got a problem.

Has this exact problem myself a number of times.

We all know that is all about the performance of the system... is there any shading what can you do to get around that... are they facing diffrent directions east/west for example but i would say when I explain the best system for a customer only about 10% even take the time to make sure I know what I am talking about, and I loose a fair amount of business because we are more expensive than someone else but I refuse to install a bodged system. I guess you can either join them or carry on explaining but atleast those who do listen and do the research tend to tust you more which is always nice !

Simples, well kinda anyway
Write down all the criteria YOU want to see in your IDEAL customer, compare that to who are your customers. For any leads you get qualify them against that list and don't even bother wasting your time quoting / visiting if they don't fit it - prequalification is key as you know they won't do business with you anyway.

You may seem that you are turning away opportunities when in fact your actually being more effective.

Next thing is lead generation - target it - our is VERY targetted and highly focussed, hence we win a very high percentage for what we quote for - the customer has usually bought from use BEFORE we tell them the price.

It's easy to be a busy fool.
