Hello everyone,

I'm pretty sure i read somewhere something about the click-fit system not being eligible for MCS installation standards? I love the system and i would just like someone to confirm to me whats the situation.

Also, i haven't contacted my supplier recently but how is everyone finding the stock availability now after the 12th and has anyone noticed any reductions in cost of materials?

Thanks Everyone,
Ryan.

I may be wrong, however, as I understand it all TUV approved mounting systems will get automatic MCS012 approval.

Whatever you think of if, the Click-Fit system is both TUV and CE approved.

I'm not sure what the situation is with the click-fit systems.

Personally, I absolutely hate the idea of it.

The click fit system basically just hooks over the batons. It is very efficient for installation although if i were to install a system which may be effected with high wind i would then look at using a different system where the hooks are actually fixed to the rafters.

So, if i'm correct, the whole system is ultimately held on by nails. Or have i got it wrong?

That's how I see it. Nails and the weight of the tiles.

It is not advised that the system is installed on battens that are rotten - but what if the battens rot in 10-15 years time?

How would you know if the battens are rotten? Strip all the tiles and check i presume.

Well, if click-fit is permissable then an installation using roof hooks with one fixing would appear perfectly acceptable

Not exactly. It works on a different principle.

Using one screw on a standard bracket would leave the bracket with too much movement and it could be levered out - putting too much stress on the screw. As far as bad ideas go, it's up there with foam wellies.
