Hi does anyone have an Electrical condition report update i could borrow for power-suit professional. i rang megger and they wanted me to pay for there care plan package(£170.00 plus VAT). i paid for this when the 17th edition came out and i have not once needed there help with the software. I don't want to pay again as i think they are ripping me off many thanks chris.

Hi Chris,

I completely understand your frustration of having to pay for updates on a product you have already paid for. You will probably find that with most software packages (industry related or not) ongoing update fees or subscription fees are becoming the norm rather than the exception. Basically much like various Anti-Virus packages and also various Microsoft products. We are also finding that in our industry of test and measurement, this route to market is being widely adopted. This is mostly because a software package is often a continuously changing product that requires ongoing developments for its users. So the product purchased originally might change over time.

Unfortunately we cannot help with the update report as it is normally licensed and registered for the user who purchased it, so in effect it would be classed as piracy. It is also not something that we sell ourselves.

Sorry, I can't help you further. Just wanted to shed some light on the situation. Any pricing issues would have to be taken up with Megger.
