Hi, I have a couple small 4 inch cooling fans that run off 115vac at 0.04a. They're rated at 3,000 rpm each and are somewhat noisy. I don't need that much airflow. My question is can they be hooked up in series with no damage to the fans?
I did that once before many, many years ago with a couple 115v fans. All that happened is they ran at a little less than half their rated speed, and were totally silent. But I never used them for more than a couple hours at a time. These could be running 6 or 8 hours non-stop. I just want to make sure there is no reason why I should not do that with these fans. I'm not an expert, especially when it comes to electrical motors, just a DIYer looking for safety confirmation.
Thank you.
