I'm new to pv (done training, but not yet done an installation).
Can anyone recommend tools, or a supplier, who deals with sun path surveying tools (I'm wondering if an old-fashioned sextant would be a useful purchase)?
Any other advice or info would also be welcomed.

Thanks and regards to all.

Steve.

Our training recommended the usual suspects:

Iridiance meter
Amp Clamp/Multimeter
Inclinometer

Some of the toold are quite expensive but if you shop around there are some good deals to be had.

If you're going for PV assessment get your application in ASAP... We were told 6-8 weeks for assessment. Turns out it was double that!

Cheers,

if you have an iPhone the free spirit-level apps are really good for the inclination measurements

I agree - Leica v good - I don't do our installs, don't do heights - Leica D8 means I can do survey without having to get onto the roof.

Similar, I don't always have ladders on the van, and it looks pro when you whip that out and survey on ground from a tripod. Also roof pitch can be measured with this tool.
