Hi,

Thought id start a post to see what you guys have found and sold!

I just been to a house and ripped out a really old MEM Contactor (This thing is mega heavy and absolutely HUGE haha).. I was about to bin it when my mate said why dont u check ebay..

Checked ebay there going for around £400!!.. What a bonus find!! So i figured lets post what people have found and see if we can all make money on rip outs!

Quick question about it tho, i believe it has asbestos in it.. Is this illegal to sell now then on ebay? Or can i sell it and state it may have asbestos?! Could i get in trouble if i sell and it does have asbestos..??

Given ebay has no problem with the thousands of dodgy electrical products already on ebay I doubt a MEM product from the days they made good gear would be a problem.

Tried to find a solid quote in ebay rules but couldn't get a definitive answer

Just list it, or at least post photos

I suppose yeah just Dont fancy police coming around saying im selling illegal products (Asbestos)

You never know what people will sue you for honestly, it would'nt suprise me if i was taken to court as it had asbestos!

That would mean anyone selling a house with Artex on the ceilings from the 60's 70's might face procecution then?
Or A house with ceramic rewireable fuses.
Or Local authority flats from the 50's 60's.
Or classic cars with asbestos brake shoes,,,,

Don't mention Asbestos, you don't know it has it and anyone buying should make thier own judgement
