Was wondering if new regulations require a separate circuit each and an isolator?

There is a reg about any appliance over 2kW to be on its own radial circuit

Is it a reg, or only a guide?

No they don't, there is no such regulation, although it would be good practice to do so.

APPENDIX 15 (Informative)
The load current in any part of the circuit should be unlikely to exceed for long periods the current-carrying capacity of the cable.

This can generally be achieved by:

(i) locating socket-outlets to provide reasonable sharing of the load around the ring
(ii) not supplying immersion heaters, comprehensive electric space heating or loads of a similar profile from the
ring circuit
(iii) connecting cookers, ovens, and hobs with a rated power exceeding 2 kW on their own dedicated radial circuit
(iv) taking account of the total floor area being served.

433.1.204 Accessories to BS 1363 may be supplied through a ring final circuit, with or without unfused spurs.

There is a recommendation for a dedicated circuit, not for it to be on its own circuit.

A dedicated circuit could be dedicated to multiple appliances, it just doesn't serve general purpose socket outlets.

But that is only relecant to installations subject to BS7671, this thread is in the Ireland section of the forum so Ireland's regulations need to be applied.

ok. i didnt see the country bit.

Well spotted, doesn't Ireland follow bs7671 for the most part ?

Depends whether it is Northern or the Republic. Northern would follow BS7671 the Republic would not.

No, Ireland follows IS10101:2020 which replaced ET101.

Like BS7671 it has elements that align with international and harmonised standards but also has elements that are unique.
