I have a customer who has just converted his garage into an office.
His existing office which is in the house, has 3 telephone lines on seperate numbers for:-
1, The business phone.
2, The fax machine.
3, The custom computer with a some form of data transfer capability??
The fax is now redundant so he has asked me to move just the phone line and the computer link into his new garage office. The routing of the cable/s will be along the gable end of the house into the attached garage - 20meters total.
I notice that the BT service line into the house is a single black multicore cable - carrying the 3 numbers.
So my question is:-
'Can I make this extension with single strand 4 core (2 twisted pairs) exterior grade cable, or do I need 2 cables to eliminate the possibility of crosstalk???
Advice appreciated
