From 1st May the Scottish Government will require all landlords who renew a lease sign a new lease to provide tenants with a TENANT INFORMATION PACK
The pack is around 20 pages long and is a legal requirement
The notable change is that it suggests landlords have their electrical check carried out by a registered electrician.
They ask for an Electrical Installation Condition Report- which is 8 pages long, as well as a portable appliance test.
As it curently stands landlords have a legal requirement to have safe electrics in Scotland, but not to prove it. Now they can be asked to prove it (via a certificate)
