Battery Car battery replacement

I have had an N-reg Cavalier in long term storage during which time someone has deprived me to the battery. I suppose I could get a replacement from a breaker's yard but then I would not know the security code and the radio would be useless. The guys that designed such units obviously aimed to make such transfers impossible. Is there a way round this other than purchasing a new radio?

Check whether someone has written the code on the radio body - it's often done.

Failing that I'd do a Google search.

If you can prove you own the vehicle there are plenty of online sites to help although it will not be free. A main Vauxhall dealer should also be able to help.
If by chance the vehicle still has its original owners pack which contained the service book etc.... it may well be in there.

There are plenty of radio decoding programs around, if I remember correctly Vauxhall radios were re badged Grundig or Phillips units

Internet found me the code for a Ford radio for free last year. I expect iit can be done for a similar price for Vauxhall as well.

Back in the day there was so many rumoured ways of unlocking the radios. The internet has possibly debunked most of them.

I seem to remember a suggestion of radio in freezer??

As above, if it’s an original radio, then Vauxhall dealer should be able to sort it out.
