Hi everyone, having read a few forums recently this looks like the one offering the best advice.Clearly a lot of us are here because we have a problem we cant figure out and need some help and i am no exception. Some months ago i fitted a system to my camper in the uk and then took a 28 day european tour and ended up in Cyprus where i live.I installed 2x120 watt panels in series through a 30 amp charge controller to 3x110 amp hour deep cycle 12v batteries. I added a 2000 watt (4000 peak) mod.sine wave inverter, fused at 40w between the batteries and the inverter. This allowed me to power the fridge/microwave etc.
The sun index is quite good out here (over 5)and gives an input peak of between 10 and 13 amps so the batteries are always fully charged when not using a load.My problem is i tried to power my swimming pool pump and the 40w fuse blew after about 10 seconds. The pump is rated at .55kw/230v/4.5amps. am i expecting too much from my system or is this achievable? Many thanks for any advice in advance,Woody
