Hi All

First time need your help with a G59 form, I have installed a 3-250kw Solaredge system last year, the customer has required us to install a new boiler Baxi Ecogen 1kw I have spoken to the DNO they have advised me to d a G59 application, do I need to do 2 G59 part 1a applications for each technology i.e. PV system, Baxi Ecogen and is this the only form I have to fill in.

Cheers Solar City for the G59 application PDF form help.

Many thanks

Paul

I am quite surprised you have installed a big system without the paper work first and got away with it

Solar system was 3.25KW was done November 2011, through the G83 application to the DNO, the customer now requires a Baxi boiler Ecogen 1kw installation which brings the system to 4.25kw over the >16 amps speaking to the DNO, I have to resubmit the Solar information and the Baxi boiler Egogen 1kw the question I am asking do I need to 2 G59 applications part 1a on both boiler and PV system and is there any other additional forms I need to do.

I have never done a G59 before that is why I am asking the question.

Sorry mis read, i dont bother filling out G59 on 50kwp systems or less, good idea to call your DNO in your area just to be on the safe side, its only a nats over

i fill out the G83 form and send in the G59 data sheet from inverter manufacturer, they have never refused, so kept doing it. I fill out G59 on 50kw plus systems.

>16A/phase means G59 application - you've been extremely lucky so far I reckon ;-)

Over 10 systems 30-50kw installed to date with two more waiting permission from DNO

so what do you plan to do when you do get one refused after you've installed it?

or do you mean that you've been submitting G83 stage 2 applications for them in advance instead of the G59 applications?

I have had a few refused yes to the latter. I do send in the paper work just not on a G59 form

ah right, that makes more sense.

We were using stage 2 forms for up to 50kWp for a while as well, but that permission to do that officially ran out in March this year IIRC, so we switched to the G59 forms to avoid the potential for there being any problems.

I suspect most of the design engineers actually prefer the stage 2 form anyway as it's much clearer for a 50kW solar installation than the G59 forms. I'd do the same myself if it wasn't for the fact we're dealing with northern powergrid who once returned a form to us because I'd submitted a plan with the location of the meter points marked on it, and a note saying the SSEG's would be located at the MPAN points.... they wanted me to mark the location of the SSEG's on the plan, then restarted the 45 working days they allowed themselves from that point.
