It is safe. Thats a quote that scares me as you and i know its not. Its like driving with/without seatbelt in my opinion.

Wrong analagy, it's like driving a car witht the best ncap rating with one of several side air bags not working.

RCD additional protection is for the 1 in a billion chance of a slight mishap.

If it was your job deanodean Would you tell a customer they must have an RCD fitted ? , to me your lack of understanding is potentially more of a crime as your charging people for work that's not required.

thanks for pointing out that i talk rubbish.

All part of the trolling service.
BS88 was great choice of protective device.
nothing wrong with bs88 fuses.

Love the way the 6mm to the shower is cable tied to surface water feed to the shower too
i thought your complaint was regarding no rcd ?

I suppose the other thing now to consider is that you were the last person to work on the circuit by changing the characteristics and have overwritten any previous testing of the circuit in question whether it was required or not, I feel after re-reading the original post that it was more replacement/maintenance.

Thanks for your input, im simply finding out where i stand but seem to be getting aggro for it cheers

You stand no chance of getting your money back, you carried out work that was not authorised by the owner of the property on an installation which was most likely fully complient at the time it was originally installed.
You risk a counter claim from the property owner and put your Ex's tenancy at risk.

Re the possibly falsley advertising membership of an organisation, if correct then the organisations will deal with that appropriately if you report the facts.

I didnt tell, i made the recomendation and they accepted. I did this free at cost so where this " charging for not needed work " is coming from i dont know. I just wasnt happy with my girlfriend and 3yo daughter using it without one. Billion to 1 chance or not...

work was authorised

Say if you wanted to go back in time and fataly destroy Thatcher in the 1980's, which fiendish plot would you choose....A. poison in a milk bottle? or, B. re-fit her shower without RCD protection?

I questioned them on it but nothing was done so i fitted RCD shower unit and billed them at cost with NO labour charge as i was genuinly concerned for my ex and her 3yo daughter. Now im getting problems with the letting agent paying me unbelievable!!

No mention of them agreeing to pay anything for the work here.

gobsmacked. i came on here with a quite reasonable question but have spent most of the time defending myself. quite dismayed at the attitude of some, to those that did help thanks.

get over it i guess, the fact is you have probably made it safer for your misses and daughter. a shower units only £40 anyway. worth the money
